Health Policy Coalitions

Because we're stronger together, ONS is an active member of the following health policy coalitions.

Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is a leading force in the fight to reduce the deadly toll of tobacco use in the United States and around the world. We work to save lives by advocating for public policies that help smokers quit, prevent kids from smoking, and protect everyone from secondhand smoke.

Coalition to Improve Access to Cancer Care
The Coalition to Improve Access to Cancer Care (CIACC) is a patient-focused organization representing patients, healthcare professionals, care centers, and the life sciences industry.

Health Professions Nursing Education Coalition
The Health Professions and Nursing Education Coalition (HPNEC) is an informal alliance of organizations that are dedicated to educating and training the healthcare workforce. We advocate for adequate and continued support for the health professions and nursing education programs authorized under Titles VII and VIII of the Public Health Service Act.

National Patient Advocate Foundation
The National Patient Advocate Foundation (NPAF) is a national nonprofit organization that champions the patient's voice on access to and reimbursement for high-quality healthcare. NPAF members work together on regulatory and legislative reform at the state and federal levels.

Nursing Community
The Nursing Community is a coalition of more than 60 nursing organizations that advocate on behalf of education, research, and workforce issues important to nursing. These issues include a robust nursing workforce, affordable access to high-quality health care, a healthcare model that prioritizes interprofessional partnerships, and nursing involvement in developing all aspects of the new healthcare information infrastructure.

One Voice Against Cancer
One Voice Against Cancer (OVAC), a collaboration of national nonprofit organizations, delivers a unified message to Congress and the White House on the need for increased cancer-related appropriations. Our united front enhances each organization’s ability to attain the funding levels necessary to win the war on cancer and to equip those facing cancer with the tools they need to fight this deadly disease.

Patient Quality of Life Coalition
The Patient Quality of Life Coalition was formed to advance the interests of patients and families facing serious illness, including survivors. The Coalition has developed a consensus-based agenda aimed at promoting public policy that will improve and expand access to high-quality palliative care. The Coalition includes more than 40 nongovernmental organizations dedicated to improving the quality of care and quality of life for these adults and children.
