MM - September 10, 2020

Oncology nurses are in a key position to provide information, which addresses patients’ misunderstandings and dispels concerns about participating in a clinical trial. To address this critical topic, MedscapeLIVE! is proud to present Novel Therapies for Multiple Myeloma: Highlights for the Oncology Nurse.

The focus of this interactive session is on novel therapies for multiple myeloma (MM) and communication messages that can be applied in daily practice when discussing clinical trial participation with patients.

This virtual event will take place THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2020 | 5:00 – 6:00 PM EDT. Participants will be awarded 1.0 contact hour of nursing continuing professional development for RNs and APNs. It is intended for oncology nurses and other healthcare providers involved in the care of patients with MM.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the risk factors for developing relapsed/refractory (R/R) MM
  • Have increased knowledge regarding the potential adverse effects of novel and emerging therapies
  • Have greater competence related to discussing clinical trial participation with patients
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to provide education about novel therapies to patients

The goals of this activity are to improve the knowledge of oncology nurses regarding novel and emerging therapies used to treat multiple (R/R) MM and to improve their skills educating patients about participation in clinical trials.
