The Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing (CJON) is an official publication of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and is directed to the practicing nurse specializing in the care of patients with an actual or potential diagnosis of cancer. CJON is a vehicle to promote the mission of ONS, which is to advance excellence in oncology nursing and quality cancer care.

The CJON mission is to publish clinically relevant, evidence-based content for oncology nurses in diverse roles and practice settings to use when caring for those affected by cancer.

EXCEL Awards

In 2023, CJON received a bronze award from the AM&P Network EXCEL Awards in the journals, cover design category for its October 2022 cover illustration created by artist Nicole Xu, which depicted the symptoms women experience throughout ovarian cancer. Previously, CJON won a silver award for journals, cover design, in 2022 for its October 2021 cover illustration; a gold award for journals, general excellence, in 2021 for the February, April, and June 2020 issues; and a silver award for journals, cover design, for the October 2020 cover illustration.

Departments

Supplements: Proposals for technical supplements containing four to six articles are welcome. The editor must approve all supplements in concept. Manuscripts must be submitted in accordance with author guidelines, comply with authorship requirements, and be accompanied by appropriate financial disclosure. Once submitted, manuscripts undergo the standard peer-review process. Proposals should be submitted to pubCJON@ons.org.

Claims Policy: Claims for missing issues must be filed within 45 days for domestic recipients and 60 days for international recipients.
